Crina – Character Sketch
Crina is a young woman living in Romania. Born in a poor family, she is the only child of her parents. But she’s no longer in that happy simple world. She’s recently lost her parents to illness and has no other family to depend upon. Her life is caught now in an almost unfathomable struggle to either stay in her small village or travel into the world in search of some hope. But her suffering doesn’t stop there; she has to fend for herself in a world that lacks kindness. Luckily Crina is a girl with a strong will and gentle heart that can find the light in any darkness. She has the power to smile in the face of death and remember that everything happens for a reason. Sadly with her parents having left her behind at such a young age, Crina must learn from life’s hardships by herself. But Crina is strong and learns quickly. She constantly daydreams of a place she can call home and feel at peace. But slowly her heart is beginning to lose hope in finding a new place she can call home.

This is a short character sketch of a character we had to create. I'm not sure if I actually got the "sketch" layout like she wanted, but this was the 2nd attempt at the assignment. The first one I did was of Rinko. She apparently doesn't have an understanding of "fantasy" characters so I just redid it with Crina. The name "Crina" means "lily" in Romanian... I think it meant something else but its hard to remember where I read it.
I based the character, Crina, on the few stories I've heard of my Great-Grandmother who came to the US from Romania.
